and if I can't, what if I work at night and sleep in the day? when should I put it on?

You can. Moisturizers are pretty much the same thing all around. If it has SPF in it, you may want to eventually get something for nighttime, but if you look at ingredients...yeah...they are pretty much the same depending on the line of products.
