Anti Aging Gracefully

According to online searches for anti aging remedies, there are a lot of us wanting to retain a youthful look!

Aging is inevitable. We'd all like to do so gracefully, and hopefully, retain at least some of our youthful appearance. In fact, there are many herbs and nutrients we can use to restore and keep a healthier and more youthful looking skin. Following an anti aging skin care strategy can also add years to your life! The herbalist uses a holistic, or whole body approach when recommending healing plants. The idea is that the apparent problem is usually only a symptom, not the cause. This is particularly evident in problems of the skin.

In the natural process of aging, skin loses elasticity, gravity pulls loose skin downward, and wrinkles start to appear. This process can be significantly slowed and in some cases, even reversed. Good nutrition is essential to any anti aging strategy. Due to poor commercial growing practices, it's difficult to get all the nutrients your body needs for optimum health. Supplements, in my opinion, are necessary to ensure adequate nutrition.

Three of the most important nutrients in any anti aging skin care program are Vitamins A, C, and E. These, in correct proportions and sufficient quantity, will restore elasticity and a supple, softer appearance to the skin. Zinc also plays an important role, optimizing assimilation of these vitamins. Apply Vitamin E oil topically to crows feet, forehead, lip lines, and other problem areas for remarkable results. The easiest method is to pierce the end of a Vitamin E gel cap, and simply squeeze the oil directly on the skin. It's quite sticky, but if you do this at bedtime, it's fairly well absorbed by morning. Cocoa butter is an excellent anti aging moisturizer. Applied to the skin on a daily basis brings wonderful results in just a couple of weeks. You'll see the difference! Papaya is a natural skin healer, used during the Civil War as a dressing for wounds. Papaya leaves are both antiseptic and promote new cell growth. Today, papaya is sold in tablet form, usually for indigestion. Make your own anti aging skin dressing: grind several tablets into a powder, adding a little water to make a paste. Apply directly to the skin, and leave on for about half an hour. Rinse off.

Another great natural product that promotes new cell growth is Aloe Vera, cream and serums that are made from the inner gel and unfiltered are best, if you want to go all the way you can also get drinking gel, which tastes disgusting but is a great benefit to you generally. The most cost effective skin care product there is that is so over looked is water. Water is one of the key elements that will truly help your skin. Go ahead and down 6-8 glasses of it each and every day. This will definitely slow the aging process.

Don't be a couch potato. Stay active and exercise regularly. Regular exercise gets your circulation going, and its anti aging effects will be visible on your skin. Your whole body will feel the difference. An anti aging strategy need not be difficult or time consuming. Just a few minutes effort each day works wonders.

I have excema around my eyes and it itches my skin. I get lines around my eyes and I've tried the creams my doctor has prescribed me, but they don't help much. I've heard that having dry skin can help speed up the ageing process, and was wondering whether a good anti-wrinkle eye cream would help. I'm 15 by the way

Hi...first of all...you must have proper night sleep....use cold water to wash your face with normal face wash cream or gel...NOT SOAP.

Take cotton wool, dip in ROSE water...pad around your eyes for 10 - 15 minutes..........You will be alright within 3 days !

What’s the best anti-aging products for my skin?

I'm in my early twenties, and this may seem like a rather vain question, but what anti-aging skin products should I be looking for?
From my understanding, it's best to start treating your skin as early as possible (and I care very much about my skin). A lot of products are used to reverse wrinkles and such, but I'm looking for the cream/moisturizer that would be most fitting for my age, seeing as how I haven't developed much for wrinkles yet.

Now besides the obvious exercise, sunscreen and water, what's the best product for preventing aging signs?

you should start by wearing at least a good night cream, like Artistry Time Defiance Night Recovery Creme and a good eye cream, like Artistry Essentials Replenishing Eye Creme.

The night cream will help increase your skin's production of collagen and elastin and will protect your skin against free radicals. The eye cream will hydrate the delicate skin around your eyes (where most of the wrinkles first start) and will help with puffiness and dark circles.

Does anti wrinkle cream really work?

I heard somewhere that you should start using anti wrinkle cream in your mid 20's. I have started using an anti wrinkle moisturizer daily, one for the day and one for night. I'm 25. I have always looked pretty young for my age but I've started to notice "laugh lines" on the sides of my eyes and around my mouth when I smile.
Does it really work?
What is it that makes it work?
Does it matter what kind I use?

Some vitamins in the cream make any kind of imperfections blend in and match the face. be patient and over time, it will work.

hope i helped (:

I heard that when using a lot of anti-aging creams, skin can loose its elasticity and with time it will create more wrinkles then it fixed.

My best friend is a consultant for Arbonne, the all natural swedish cosmetics and face care. I've not heard that you can incur wrinkles by using a lot of creams, but it's totally possible. The most important part is taking care of your skin though, and here is the best advice I've gotten, and it's scientifically proven.
1. Don't wash too much- twice a day is completely sufficient, the night one being more important than the morning one. (providing you washed your face the night before!)
2. Use 2 different lotions - after washing your face and using a toner, if desired, MOISTURIZE. For day moisturizing use an SPF- sun and smoking are the worst 2 proven wrinkle accelerators. For night moisturizing, use a bit heavier cream.

Perhaps you can strike a happy medium by using a gentle eye cream at night, but not in the morning. This way you're giving your skin the drink it needs, but not OVER doing it.
Good luck!!

What are the most effective anti-aging products that you know of?

Staying OUT of the SUN! NO SMOKING! Other than that taking a multivitamin and making sure your body has the right nutrients is essential to maintaining youthful skin. Also, If you can find any multi-peptide serums (they contain amino acids that kickstart collagen production) or topical DMAE creams. (ask your local skin care specialist) Try to stay away from Peels and Microderm abrasion. They will strip your skin and make the wrinkles and lines APPEAR less, but is really not doing anything to help you long term.

Overcoming Menopause

menopause Overcoming MenopauseDuring menopause, hormone levels begin to change. This can cause a variety of symptoms and the degree varies from woman to woman. Usual signs include a change in the bleeding cycle, becoming more irregular as the months progress. Blood flow also starts to change. One of the most common symptoms is hot flashes. By definition, hot flashes are a sudden heat flushing over the torso and redness in the face and neck. Some women might even get it while they sleep, and these are referred to as night sweats.

Mood swings and exhaustion are reported by a majority of menopausal women because of the hormone levels shifting. Women going through this get easily worn down, sometimes experiencing major fatigue. The night sweats only aggravate the situation, making rest even more impossible even at night. Ironically, most women do not lose weight despite the stress their body is experiencing. They, in fact, gain more weight because fat levels tend to increase as they grow older.

Menopause is a sometimes an unpleasant fact of life. It is a period of aging that has its ups and downs, and millions of women have no choice but to endure it. This is when your sense of humour comes in handy because you can lower your stress level by looking at the situation as a mere stage in every woman’s life. You may be nearing the menopause, and you are wondering how to protect your heart, bones, and memory in the long term. There are a couple of things you can do to help you through it. You could just put up with the symptoms or go on a Hormone Replacement Treatment (HRT). If you are not very comfortable with the idea of an HRT, you may want to try some of the many natural and herbal supplements available out in health stores.

Fact is, the most popular treatment for the menopause has been HRT. However, several major international studies have now been aborted due to the increased risk for participants of serious medical conditions such as heart disease, stroke, thrombosis, breast and ovarian cancer, and the like. Many women are understandably looking for an alternative. The good news is, it is possible to overcome the symptoms of the menopause without resorting to HRT.

Just take into account that menopausal symptoms are not always related to with falling levels of estrogen. Just make sure that you start including a healthy diet rich in phytoestrogens, the use of scientifically based supplements, daily relaxation, and regular exercise in your routine.

The best sources of phytoestrogens are soya products and you need to eat at least 100mg of phytopestrogens a day to help alleviate symptoms. Back this up with multi-vitamins so that you get better results.

More than ever, you need to learn to relax. Exercise helps in alleviating depression, anxiety, and insomnia. Any activity that puts weight through your bones such as jogging or brisk walking are the best options. They help stimulate the regeneration of bone tissue and reduce calcium loss helping to protect against osteoporosis.

The fact that these options are there for you is extremely good news. There is no substitute for learning to meet your body’s needs especially at the time of the menopause. After all, prevention is better than cure.
