I was wondering whether using anti aging cream rather then normal moisturizer would make a bigger difference in the future for my skin
You know the old saying 'Prevention is better than cure'
Why wait until your face starts to wrinkle when you can delay them dramatically with a good anti aging cream.
Moisturisers are great but a good anti aging cream contains quite specific ingredients to combat wrinkles, sagging skin, dry skin etc.
I keep saying a good anti aging cream because there are tons of them on the market, most of them are just moisturisers masquerading as anti aging creams.
So if you can afford it why not go for it, otherwise at your age I'm sure a decent moisturiser will keep your skin soft until those naughty lines start to appear.
I would really like to know that because mom's birthday is coming up and I know that my mom would really like an anti-aging cream, she has used a lot over the counter products but can't seem to find one that truly works. Please suggest from previous experience!
If you are really looking for the best anti aging products,
I suggest doing what this mom did, combining Resveratrol and Lift
Hi Alex,
I started using Oil of Olay in my early twenties.I'm now 51 (Gasp horror) and I now use creams suitable for my age ie Nivea DNA cell renewage.I was recently told I only looked about 38 (I'm not being bigheaded here ,in fact it was quite embarrasing) that was by some other women who were in their 50's as well. But I eat healthily ,I've never smoked and I exercise regularly.I also think it has to do with your genes. My mother is 83yrs old and only a couple of years ago she said to me "Look at the wrinkles on my face" of course I had to laugh and said "Mum you are in your eighties what do you expect?"Any way stop worrying, that way you will not get any worry lines. Enjoy your life and like yourself for who you are.
When it comes to anti-aging, prevention is definitely better than the cure. But even if you already look older than you were last year, your efforts will not be futile. There is still hope as long as equip yourself with the right knowledge.
You really need to avoid the trap of collagen based wrinkle cream. You need to safeguard yourself from the huge marketing hype going on in the industry. They show the before and after pictures of women and make you think that the product can do miracles on your skin. They use words such as collagen and elastin, and then make you think that these two are the solutions for your dilemma. As you age, your collagen and elastin levels start to drop. So, it makes sense to apply creams that have these two chemicals and just assume that your skin will automatically absorb them.
This assumption, of course, has no scientific explanation to back it up. First of all, the collagen molecule is too large to absorb. The uppermost layer of the skin rejects it, and it therefore cannot enter the deeper layers. Just ask your dermatologist and you’ll know what this means. In gist, anti-aging wrinkle creams do not help in preventing wrinkles at all. However, don’t lose hope because there are products out there that can help.
You will be happy to know that scientists have discovered natural substances that have the ability to stimulate the body's own collagen production. They do wonders in preventing wrinkles, plus, the effects are nothing short of amazing because they will give you a firm, pliant, and elastic skin. These products do not add anything that is new to your system. In fact, it only enhances what you already have in the first place. Therefore, you won’t walk around looking like a wax figure from another time and place.
One such ingredient is called the Cynergy TK. It helps the skin’s collagen and elastin production, improves moisture retention, develops skin elasticity, and enhances cell regrowth. There is also a Japanese sea kelp called Phytessence Wakame that performs just as well.
Natural creams just work better because the ingredients are already found in your body. Of course, the most common of the products have Vitamin E in them. You just have to read up on the details carefully and consult your dermatologist to make sure that you won’t pay the price with the side effects. It is best to go through a government study online to get more information on the ingredients.
Specialists in ingredients of anti-aging supplements will tell you the facts that you should know. After all, if you are asked to pay a hefty amount of money, you might as well make sure that it is worth it. With so many new creams to choose from now, it is difficult to decide which one is the best to use. It is crucial to bear in mind that there is a wide variety of effective creams that treat an almost equally wide range of skin problems as well as numerous skin types. Know what works for you and study the package carefully so that it complements the other products you use on your face.
Many people know the unfortunate situation they’ll be facing when they age. Their metabolism slows down when they get older and they’ll notice that losing weight is no longer as easy as it used to be. If you are starting to notice that you are steadily gaining pounds even if your diet and exercise level has not changed, you may already be experiencing a slow down with your metabolism. This, however, does not have to be the end of the world. If there were no solution to this problem, then we would definitely see everyone in the aging community getting bigger.
Therefore, you do not have an excuse if you were to become complacent and simply accept weight gain. There are a number of ways you can help rev up your waning metabolism. First of all, you have to understand what metabolism is. In its most basic definition, it is all of the chemical and physical processes that occur within your body and that are necessary to sustain life. There is a close relationship between weight loss and metabolism. In fact, these chemical and physical processes require energy. To have some energy to burn, you need calories in your system. Every function in your system utilizes those calories in order to work properly. Even if you didn’t do anything but eat and breathe, you’d still need some sort of battery power to make these movements possible. If you were to lead a more active lifestyle, you’d need additional calories. Obviously, you’d require more if you had to do more than the usual work.
You can simply look into improving your metabolism with diet changes. Of course you must first consult your doctor to be able to do this properly. If you are one to enjoy constant snacking, it would be better to divide your diet into six mini meals spread throughout the day. Why is this better? Well, since digestion requires calories, you will only be able to enjoy the benefit of burning calories with the number of meals you’ve made. Dividing your meals into smaller and more frequent ones means that you are requiring your digestive system to work more than usual. It also allows you to better use and to effectively absorb your nutrients because your body can only take in a small amount with each meal. When you consume too much in one sitting, you are just storing the excess in your body.
A common misconception is that there are foods that burn fat better than others. This could not be further from the truth. Some foods may speed up metabolism, but they do not cause weight loss. What is most important is that you carefully select what you eat. Choosing whole grains and fiber-rich foods gives you more energy for digestion. Exercise can also do a lot of good for you. Not only do you burn calories, you also enjoy an additional expenditure of calories as your body cools down from a strenuous session.
You should be in control of your life and your body. Taking action is one way to enjoy your body even as you age. Your life will quickly turn for the better and you will begin to reap the benefits of the new you with a bit of discipline and initiative.
With so many anti aging and laser treatments available on the market, you can get confused with choosing what works best for you. All of them claim to come from only the best brands and from trusted sources. But what exactly are they?
The word we hear most may be Botox. This treatment basically helps ease away frown lines. Lasers, on the other hand, are used to stimulate your skin to tighten or lighten. The machines that perform these tasks use three forms of controlled heat: light, pulsed light, or radiofrequency.
The easiest way to understand the treatments is to divide them into smaller categories:
1. Skin whitening: machines that use Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) are used here. These non-ablative lasers work on skin tone, to clear away broken veins, capillaries, and pigmentation. People wilth large pores and uneven skin tone can also opt for this type of treatment.
2. Skin tightening and firming: thermal treatments are used here. This usually involves radiofrequency (RF) or infrared (IR) to penetrate deeper into the layers of your skin. For skin that’s been badly damaged, the machines stimulate the skin's healing process, which, of course, slows down with age. The skin is stimulated to produce collagen. And as we all know, this substance makes skin tighter.
3. Ablative laser treatments: Older models of the machine do more damage than good. Fortunately, these mistakes have been corrected. The newer lines of laser machine target the top layer of the skin without being too invasive. In return, more sessions will be necessary to achieve the desired results. This, of course, means that the light won’t shock your system and will peel away unwanted layers without exposing the raw skin underneath.
It's best to consult with your doctor first so that they can tell you which treatment you most need. Never try to scrimp on your budget and just go to someone because of the low price they offer. Many have fallen victims to frauds and sometimes, the damage can no longer be corrected. Always check that your doctor is certified to perform laser treatments and ask to see lots of before and after pictures of their patients so that you are able to gauge their work. Don't be afraid to ask questions and ask what the possible side effects of the treatment will be. Just know that everything has a side effect, even laser treatments.
What makes laser treatment more popular is its ability to diminish or eliminate imperfections with minimal bleeding, bruising, and scarring. It uses beams of cosmetic laser light to perform the surgery. Laser treatment technology has definitely revolutionized anti aging treatments within the field of cosmetic surgery. It continues to implement advancements in the technology, making this one of the safest options for people. Some of the imperfections may be covered up with beauty products and makeup. The "pigment-blasting" eliminates the brown patches and spots that often occur with aging so that you never have to worry about covering it again. You no longer need to fret about wearing your swimsuit.

I am 30 years old and looking for the good anti aging cream for face and eyes. What do you recommend?
Look for something that contains retinol, Vitamin E and fruit acids.
Make sure that you use a cream specifically for the eye area and another for the rest of your face - and don't forget your neck and hands plus decolletage - which are also prone to showing signs of aging.
I get flush around the cheeks area. At night, I want to use a good anti-wrinkle cream but I fear making the flush/red areas worse on my face. I am looking for a good, calm anti-wrinkle cream that is non-comodegenic and hypo-allergic.
Try this web site it has a lot of really good informatiom about products.
What are the best anti-aging products out there? I used to use Neutrogena's Visibly Firm, but they changed the formula and it doesn't work as well for me anymore.
Plus, as I start to age, I'm needing something more. I'm in my 30s.
Besides avoiding the sun and using spf daily (which I do already), any other advice?
Thanks!
Sorry I've not experimented with any aging products. I've heard the age defying from Oil of Olay might be good and I personally enjoy all of Lancome's products they are also L'oreal, so try those. Sorry if they don't work, but I'm sure Oil of Olay has something they have a whole line dedicated to age defying.
Good Luck.
